A Fantastic Fringe Care Festival
We were absolutely delighted to have been selected as one of the 20 care homes in Edinburgh to host the Fringe Cares Festival to Gilmerton Care Home & Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre for the very first time, and what an incredible day it was!
Our beautiful garden was transformed into a vibrant 1950s & 60s Music Festival, with glorious sunshine, fantastic live entertainment and smiles all around. Residents, families, friends and staff embraced the theme, dressing up in fabulous vintage outfits and dancing and singing along to the wonderful music.
The excitement continued with an amazing juggling performance that had everyone laughing and applauding, creating magical moments that will be remembered for a long time to come.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special, especially our incredible team, volunteers, entertainers, families and visitors. Seeing so many happy faces enjoying the music, sunshine and each other's company was truly heartwarming. It's so important to us that our residents stay connected to the community and culture of our home city, with the famous Edinburgh Fringe bringing people of all ages together across the city. Events like these form part of our varied activities programme that keeps our residents engaged and stimulated everyday and makes up a valuable part of the bespoke lifestyle we offer at Gilmerton.
This was a wonderful first Festival Fringe event at Gilmerton, and we're already looking forward to making it even bigger and better next year!
