A Joyful Summer Fete

We are delighted to share that this year’s Summer Fete at Gilmerton Care Home was a truly joyful occasion. Residents, families, staff, and friends from the local community gathered together for a day filled with laughter, music, and sunshine.

From lively stalls and delicious homemade bakes to fun games and live entertainment, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere throughout the day was warm and welcoming, with plenty of smiles and happy moments shared.

The fete was a wonderful opportunity for residents to spend time with their loved ones, while also connecting with the wider community. Many residents commented on how special it felt to see families, children, and neighbours come together to celebrate. Events like these bring a real sense of togetherness and help strengthen the bonds between our home and the people around us.

Highlights of the day included a raffle with fantastic prizes, a tombola, and stalls full of treats and handmade crafts. Guests enjoyed sampling a variety of homemade cakes, while live music and entertainment added to the cheerful atmosphere. The gardens at Gilmerton provided the perfect setting, filled with laughter, conversation, and sunshine.

Our staff team worked hard to ensure the event ran smoothly, and their efforts were rewarded with a day that brought so much happiness to our residents. Seeing the joy on residents’ faces as they joined in the games, sang along to the music, or simply enjoyed the company of their families made the day truly worthwhile.
